  watch 74 p.167 "by disobediently overindulging in food and making a glutton of himself, he fails to show love for jehovah god...is food a big thing in his life?

  if in the presents of others, does he selfishly ignore thier needs and take far more then his share?

  is he grossly overweight but shows no restraint at all as to food, habitually gorging himself?

  See how the 2004 article sugars things down alittle bit! Many skinny Elders may have tried to disfellowship afew fatty's....not nice....clarification was needed in 2004.

  I dont go witnessing anymore, i think gays are definately born that way I know some brothers who are definately gay but trying to deny it. One pioneer brother got in trouble for huging brothers all the time. He never married and acts gay, so some people aviod him.

  Out Witnessing a year ago I left the Awake in a letterbox since no one was home and I hate missing people and wasting time. {Good Witness boy!} Later a women who had been jogging chased me down and returned my magazine. She said she didn't like the article on "Does God aprove of Homosexuals." She said we were biased and showing discrimination then walked off before we could give her a "Witness." I could'nt help admiring her stand. She actually read some of the magazine and formed an opinion. Years earlier a Homosexual man asked me how we view them as Witnesses. I lied to him saying "we don't hate or judge people ourselves, we respect peoples views however, due to the bible and God's view, we don't agree with them." Later my partner said ; "Yuck dirty Gays are gonna be destroyed by God!." It's funny how we sugar over our words when out preaching but hate the "Worldly" folks when we are alone. Thank you to jogging women, whoever you are, you've Got more integrity then us.

  God help me - Just finished Crisis of Conscience

  i don't know whether to laugh or cry.. a friend lent me coc yesterday and i stayed up most of the night reading it.

  it took me 13 hours and i skipped the meeting today to keep reading, i couldn't bear to put it down.. i am shocked but not surprised at how closely ray's thinking mirrors my own in some ways.

  the part that hit me hardest was.... "conviction, it has no meaning or validity unless it is individual, personal.

  Best book I ever read. Hard to find in my area. Every Witness should read this book to see that the Governing Body are just MEN throwing darts at a dart board. They have no special powers, yet like the Pharasee's they tell us how to live in every aspect of our lives. Remember what Jesus said ;"You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." You'll be fine, be strong and brave and you will find your life path.

  Someone at Bethel put joke in Watchtower CD translation!!

  if you have watchtower computer cd 2001- i stumbled across an article discussing sterilization/vacectomies watch 85 5/1 p.31.

  someone at bethel who typed it for the cd added a sad face in mid-sentence!!!

  which is not in the bound volumes.

  I think the sad face is Jehovah! He's not pleased that the slave class are presenting thier opionion as his "holy word."

  Aren't we really the pioneers?

  we are blazing through the time we live in, seeking freedom from the oppression around is, in us, through us.

  we are opening our minds to new ways of thinking, feeling, living, sharing.. it's not easy, we pay a price, for some of its much higher than others.

  we suffer alone, endure hardships, bear the truth and it's consequences.. there is no new land to conquer, no nations to be born, no places to run to any longer.

  As the articles point out you can literally be disfellowshiped for gluttony however proving it is extremely difficult. To my knowledge nobody has been Disfellowshiped for this that I know of. People who eat alot are generally shy about it and do so in private. The articles are ridiculous, saying that a glutton would eat everything on the table and leave nothing for others. Although I have alot of skinny friends who do just that. One very thin 18 year old pioneer holds the Cong. record at Pizza hut all you can eat, 2 large and a bottle of Coke. He did not feel great afterwards and we didn't prosecute him.

  Ever met a "deep" JW?

  my guess is probably not, or if they were they weren't that much of a jw or their perspective isn't so relevant to jw thought - i trust those that have been out a while understand what i mean, hindsight and all.

  what i'd like to do is draw out a contrast that some may have by way of their personal experience, maybe a "worldly person" or other non-jw that is an example of someone that has a great and helpful perspective on life, vs. the jw one.

  there may be people from this board, but i think even a specific telling moment with a simple thing could be good or even better.
